v. 8 For though hast said that God himself should come down among the children of men; and now, for this cause thou shalt be put to death unless thou wilt recall all eh words which thou hast spoken evil concerning me and my people.
Blasphemy
Under the Law of Moses, blasphemy was a capital offense. Leviticus 24:16: “He that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death.”
