Coming to know Christ
You cannot know Christ intellectually alone. You know Him through covenant service — loving, lifting, and redeeming His children. Why does serving people help us know Christ?
Because the pure love of Christ grows fastest in service. Serving softens us, enlarges our hearts, and lets us feel Christlike compassion.
Because we see people the way He sees them. We learn how He loves, forgives, lifts, heals.
Because we literally act in His place. When we rescue, comfort, lift burdens, or feed the hungry, we become His hands — and we feel what He feels.
Because charity opens spiritual perception. Alma says:
“If ye have not charity, ye are nothing… charity never faileth.”
—Moroni 7:46–47
Charity is Christ’s very nature.
Because His Spirit accompanies Christlike service. Where we serve with meekness, the Holy Ghost is poured out, and the Holy Ghost’s mission is to reveal and testify of Christ.
