Cinnamon rolls

One of my favorite Christmas traditions are the Christmas morning Cinnamon rolls.  Granted, they take some time to make on Christmas Eve, but if you divide up the labor (dad puts together the bicycle, doll house, etc.), then there is time for someone else (mom), to make the cinnamon rolls. After the kids open their stockings and see what Santa brought them, we all sit down and have cinnamon rolls with milk. Then it's time to open presents and take a nap.
Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 cup hot water
  • 1/2 can (3/4 cup) evaporated milk
  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup dry potatoes (potato flakes or buds)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp yeast
  • 4 cups of flour
  • Cinnamon sugar mixture (1/2 cup sugar with 2 Tbsp Cinnamon)
  • Dental Floss
Frosting
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1 lb box confectioner's sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3-4 Tbsp Milk
  
Preheat the oven to 350
Directions
1. Mix the first six ingredients and about 2-3 cups of the flour.
2. Add the eggs and yeast and keep on mixing.
3. Add the flour until the dough starts to pull away from the side of the bowl.
4. It will be a soft dough.
5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled (about 1 hour).
6. Divide the dough in thirds.
7. Roll it out, then spread melted butter over it.
8. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over it.
9. Roll up your log of dough and then used the dental floss or a string to cut the rolls into one inch slices.
10. Place on your baking sheet about 1/2 inch apart. 
11. Allow to rise for one hour.
12. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.
13. Mix up the frosting while they are baking.
14. Frost the rolls while they are still warm.
15. Go ahead and have a roll or two tonight. You deserve it. You'll get to have more in the morning.
