The Crags
One of the quintessential Colorado Springs area hikes, The Crags offers incredible views on a relatively short hike. This is a fairly popular hike and the parking lots tends to fill up fast and early. We're big fans of stopping at McGinty's pub on the way back and getting some tasty food.

The Hike:
The hike heads out from the parking lot with some initial steep switchbacks. Don't let this discourage you because it quickly levels out to a nice easy ascent along Four Mile Creek.
There will be a fork in the road, stay left, otherwise, you will hike to the top of Pike's Peak.
Aspen forests dominate the first part of the hike along the valley floor. As you get near the end, you'll start to head steeply up the granite. This is a really fun part of the hike because you can hop along the rocks to the summit.
Once at the top, you will be treated with cool rock formations, views of Rampart Range, Ute Pass, and the Catamount Reservoirs. Bristlecone pine trees have been gnarled by the wind and make for fun photos.
Once at the top, follow the Ridgeline down for some different views and a chance to get away from the people that tend to congregate at the summit.
