Waihe'e Ridge Trail
A moderate to pretty darn steep out and back trail with great views of the Waihe'e Valley. Like anywhere in Hawaii, it can get pretty muddy, so be prepared. We brought our hiking poles, and it was really worth it, especially on the way down when it was quite slick in some places.

The Hike:
Like anything, get there early, or else you will have to use the overflow parking which is in Oahu. Well, it's down the hill quite a ways, so it really isn't worth it if you have to hike up the super steep road to the start. From the parking lot, head up a paved super steep road until you get to the edge of the forest. From here, you will quickly be swallowed up in the forest. It' s a pleasant little stroll while heading steadily up. About a mile up the trail, there is a very auspicious tree. From here, it gets very steep. It will stay pretty steep all the way to the top with a couple of level areas as you go further up the trail.
