Pipiwai Trail
While it's not close to the resorts where most people stay, the Pipiwai trail is worth the effort. It is really quite a drive (the road to Hana) to get there, so leave really early so you don't get stuck behind an endless parade of slow drivers. Grab some banana bread, roll down the windows, play some Jack Johnson and just enjoy the drive. Hike it in the morning, then have lunch on the cliffs overlooking the ocean. Nothing short of amazing here.

The Hike:
It's best to park in the National Park parking lot (pay the fee or get in free if you are military) and then cross the road and head up the trail. The first part is a bit steep, but by the time you get to the awesome Banyan tree, things level out. It's uphill all the way to the waterfall, but you will barely notice. Much of the hike is through the most amazing bamboo forest and along well planned boardwalks. It is truly a marvelous little hike in a tropical paradise.
